OUR STORY

Hi, we’re Max & Elvis, the Barking Mad Brothersthe canine creative inspiration behind our range of teas.

I’m Max, the big brother and truth be known the good one. I always come when asked and sit when I’m told. I spend my days rolling over and paw-fecting my hand shake.

Then there’s my brother Elvis, he's definitely the naughty one, in fact, he only shakes when he rattles and rolls, usually in something smelly. He’s been known to sneak food from the countertop and play his boom box too loud. We may have completely different per.son.al.i.TEAS, but we always agree on one thing—we love our Barking Mad Tea.

We are originally from London, where tea reigns supreme. When mom and dad decided to move us to Los Angeles we worried we would have to give up our favorite drink. I mean not only is tea good for us but it taste delicious too.

I’m not gonna lie, we were pretty stressed out when we arrived in California. Everything was strange and new, not to mention we didn’t really enjoy the flight. But then, mom made us a special blend of herbs to help calm us down and relax. This is our blend called se.ren.i.TEA

When mom went to the market, she couldn’t find the food we ate in London. The new food upset our tummies. Once again mom came to the rescue making us another tea blend called tas.TEA. In no time we were digesting our food without a problem. Thank goodness cause Elvis was dropping some right stinkers.

After a few days of getting settled in, our dad took us to a dog park to meet new friends. We wanted to make a good first impression, and of course, Elvis wanted to impress the ladies. Mom whipped up a batch of flir.TEA, a blend of aromatic herbs to ensure our breath was fresh and put us on top of our game.

We always say why drink plain water when you can infuse it with delicious Barking Mad Tea. Its yummy and so so good for you. You’d have to be barking mad not to….

What was the first thing you chewed that you were not meant to?
That is a tough question. I used to chew a lot of things chair legs, shoes, the post – but I remember the time I ate mommy’s Gucci sunglasses, that took her a while to get over and I certainly won’t make that mistake again!
What is your favorite pastime?
Easy, sleeping. Wait, no, eating. No, definitely sleeping. Sleep-eating?
What is your favorite movie?
Casablanca – classic Bogart, they just don’t make films like that anymore!
If you were a superhero, who would you be and why?
It has to be Superman. Mild mannered Clark Kent by day is just like me – I like to keep to myself, relax and do my own thing. However, when people are in need, I spring into action and come to their rescue. I remember as a puppy in London they called me “the peacemaker”, when dogs were fighting in the parks I would run in between them and calm everything down.
What is your karaoke go to?
Hmmm, I’m not really one for Karaoke as I don’t like being the center of attention, but if I’m pushed I would have to say Simply the Best, by Tina Turner – it’s one of mommy’s favorites too.
What is your favorite TV show?
Game of Thrones hands down – love House Stark and my brother dire wolves – they’re the best!

What was the first thing you chewed that you were not meant to?
[sniggering] It was daddy’s wallet – he was silly enough to leave it out on the low coffee table, it was a really nice soft leather and was really chewy. The cards were a little more crunchy. I tried most of them but got bored before I got to the AMEX, Daddy’s seemed very angry, but still didn’t get a new wallet for years.
What is your favorite pastime?
I love going for walks and runs – anything out in the open air. As soon as anyone goes to the cupboard to get the leashes I get so excited I can hardly contain myself and I start singing. It is just the best thing in the world – I’m getting excited just talking about it. Can we go now?
What is your favorite movie?
I love action films and especially things like Bond (obvs he’s English!), which is one of mommy’s favorites. But my real favorite is Eight Below as it shows the true ingenuity of my fellow huskies. Also I can relate to the dog Max (which is also the name of my brother & BFF) as he starts off as slightly naughty, but then comes into his own when things get really tough. I love that movie. Can we watch it now?
If you were a superhero, who would you be and why?
Wow, that’s a tough one there are so many great ones to choose from, but I’m going to go with Ironman. He is a bit of a showoff and loves to be the center of attention, but he always has other people’s best interests at heart even if he doesn’t always show it. Plus he’s super smart and good looking, just like me!
What is your karaoke go to?
Oh, ooo, I love karaoke – I mean I just love to sing from Bowie to Bieber. That being said though, what’s my name? I’m going to go with Hound Dog by the late, great Elvis Presley!
What is your favorite TV show?
I like a lot of shows: Flash, The Big Bang Theory, but my best evenings are sitting on the sofa with mommy watching Scandal, it’s scandalous!
